#1 I have a pair of Marantz Imperial 8 speakers that my friend gave because he thought they were old and worn out. The dimensions are 19" x 27". They have a 12" woofer, 3 midranges and 2 tweeters plus 2 ports.

The Marantz Imperial 8 speakers made in Japan the year of 1975. The Imperial is a 3-way, 6-driver bass reflex speaker design. High efficiency is 100dB which is a good candidate for tube amplification also. The cabinets are walnut veneer that are solid built with 4 internal diagonal braces to control resonances and unwanted vibrations.

very nice pair of Marantz IMPERIAL 8s. clean through and through with only a few scratches to the top of each speaker. tested and sounding great. familiar with the history of this pair and can attest that they were never abused. risers with felt pads included. will consider shipping anywhere but, through regional carrier, can definitely be shipp.

I was a retail audio salesman during the 1970's, and I remember the Marantz Imperial 6 very well. I preferred its sound over the slightly larger, three-way Imperial 7 speaker. The sevens always had a slightly boxy sound, to my ears. At the time, Advent speakers were very popular, although I did not sell them.

#1 Picked these up at Goodwill today for $30.00. I've never seen let alone heard a pair of Marantz speakers before but when I tried to lift them I knew I had to have them. Also, when I took off the grill cloth and saw that all 12 drivers appear to have been re-foamed and or serviced I thought I had nothing to lose.
